If you are one of those living in the path of

Irene, this one's for you and yours. If you

live anywhere, this one's for you because
disaster can strike anytime and our dear, sweet
companions need their own emergency plans!
(EVEN THE WEATHER CHANNEL SEZ SO!)

Today we received our first issue of

(true) the only guinea pig magazine

in the WORLD (from England, and

it appeared that someone in customs

gave it quite the going-over!) and they

featured the Weaver family, who lost

not only their guinea pig sanctuary,

but their entire home blew completely

OFF its foundation during the tornadoes

that destroyed so much of Alabama,

especially Tuscaloosa and they had

a section on Guinea Pig Emergency kits!

(We're still laughing about why customs

had to rifle through a guinea pig magazine

but guess we'll never know!)

To those experiencing "unusual events"

such as earthquakes, tornadoes, and

particularly Hurricane Irene, we send our love

and prayers for your safety: please keep

your MODS in the loop! You know how
upset we got during First Clutch when Molly
disappeared for one night, returning wet and
seemingly with a hurt foot the following night...
