Amid the stress of world events, disasters both political and natural, we turn to the Owlboxes for comfort of a sort. Not all Owl News is good news, but it is normal and understandable and acceptable news on a small scale.
Ms. Pepper has lost an egg. There are rumors about what a gopher had to do with it, but for our purposes, let’s just say its lost. And since the inventory numbers have worn off the eggs, we will assume it was the last till facts show otherwise.
Ms. Willow has gone to join Bear in the tree and wonderful surprise for Noelle and the little ones, the couple brought 17 treats at the end of the day. Momma made 2 lengthy visits to be sure the babies were well fed, so all seems to be right in the box. (The rabbit family does not concur with this statement and requested their objection be noted.)
Buddy and Fluffy begin the wait for their first hatchling. Angel’s Glow and Magic Feather are attending. Oh boy, are we excited!! Why is she sleeping?
At Lucy and Ricky’s we have rumors of a girlfriend (his) and the inevitable conflict. Now that Cuba allows privately owned businesses with employees, Ricky is thinking the family should go back to the island and get in on the ground floor for a change. And no one at the box denied any of this, the most condemning fact of all!!! Lucy, we’re here to help, just call 1-900-owl-talk.
The Starr Ranch lost Owlette #6 overnight on Wednesday. 6 wasn’t doing well and there was considerable concern, but of course, it didn’t end the way we wished. Needing a name for each lost owlette (editor’s requirement) I have called him Little Moon.
Our own dear Bertha now has 3 eggs. She is known to us as Busy Body Bertha for her obsession with the neighborhood watch. Even as she laid the 2nd egg she craned her neck to see out the door. Hopefully her boredom with life in the box will subside as she busies herself with maternal activities. In our photo she is seen wondering why one egg looks like a chicken from the owltside.
This is all the news from the front (and back) of the Owlbox. Till next time.
For Richard E. its MsR.
