Movie Night MODs Rise to New Challenge

(October 21) Just as the Movie Night MODs were getting into a comfortable caption contest groove, contest mistress Kestra decided to throw them for another loop. Instead of asking the MODs to come up with a caption for the lump o’ owlets picture, she challenged them to explain what the owlets were doing. MODs rose to the challenge quite handily – the judges did not. It took a total of four judges to come up with a solid panel of finalists from among the fourteen entries!

The Ears Have It on Molly Movie Night

(October 14) Molly’s eyes may have launched a hundred thousand or so web searches, but this week it was her ears that inspired a thousand – OK, a dozen or so – creative Molly Movie Night Caption Contest entries. As Kestra would be quick to point out, those weren’t really Molly’s ears – it was just the appearance of ears that inspired MODs to wax auretical! Molly Movie Nigh participants celebrated with Marilyn173 as her caption was chosen the winner of last week’s caption contest poll. Marilyn’s captions, which tend to use the “storytelling” format, have made it into the finals four times since July and often came “this close…” in the polls.
